The 66 th National Film Awards ceremony was recently held at Vigyan Bhavan in
New Delhi on 23 December. This year Ayushmann Khurana and Vicky Kaushal
were the recipients for the Best actor awardfor their excellent acting skills in
‘Andhadhun’ and ‘Uri- The Surgical Strike’ respectively. Akshay Kumar received
the Award for the category ‘Best Film on Social Issues’ for his film ‘Padman’.
However the legendary actor, the megastar Amitabh Bachchan skipped the
ceremony due to his illness.
For the last few days Amitabh Bachchan is not having a great time as far as his
health is concerned. The veteran star has cancelled a few engagements
recently. In this context Amitabh shared a post on his Twitter handle to
announce that he will not be able to attend the National Awards Ceremony on
23 December. On Sunday evening he wrote on his Twitter account that he was
down with fever and not allowed to travel. So he will not be present in the 66 th
National Award ceremony in Delhi.
The legendary actor was admitted into the hospital few weeks ago. He kept on
working on some of his recent film projects despite the health issue. In recent
times he just finished up the shooting for his upcoming film ‘Chehre’. He also
graced the 50 th edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa
last month. In October Amitabh shared a post after getting discharged from
the hospital regarding his weight loss. He wrote that he lost five kilograms
since last few days and he said it is just fantastic for him to lose that much
weight in short period of time.
The superstar is one of the most active actors of bollywood on social media as
he tries to reply his fans a lot of times on his Twitter account. His handle is
considered as the most tweeted one in 2019 as he had so many interactive
sessions with his fans on Twitter. He is able to beat bollywood stars like Shah
Rukh, Salman and Akshay to become the most tweeted handle of the year.
Amitabh is busy with so many projects like, ‘Jhund’, ‘Chehre’, ‘Gulabo Sitabo’
and ‘Brahmastra’. All the four films are scheduled to hit the big screens in
2020. He just wrapped up the shoot for Ayan Mukherji’s ‘Brahmastra’ in
Manali and the whole tem of this film was also spotted shooting for the climax
scene of the film.
